Scary Monsters
64
I go to sleep and I dream of
Scary monsters,
Oh what a nightmare.
I’m glad when I awaken
To find out that
There was nothing there.
Scary monsters –
Devils too,
Full moon shining
Its monster stew.
Scary monsters
Revengeful hour
Blood uncurling
Monster power.
And in my dreams
The monsters ride,
A human child
With frightful fear.
And takes them to scary monster den,
And I wonder
Will we ever see them alive again?
Ride on, break out
From this monster land,
Come on everybody
Hand in hand.
Fight back the monsters
With your human power
Hoorah!
We’ve won
In this dark hour.
As I awake and find it is morning,
and that monsters are not real.

I thought this was fantastic, my grand daughter really like the poem and the pictures. She recognized the monster right away., But she also said monsters are not real. This was very nice to read.

Thank you lavender3957 for your comment, you can tell your daughter I am inspired by her comment and have added her thought to the end of the poem. Peter
